Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Ephesians 5:20

Some people think JUST going or coming to church, means something. They think, I came to church what else do you want? What that person fails to understand is that a church is just a building. A place on the earth. Owned by God. Inhabited by all kinds of things seen and unseen. You have to make a place Holy. You have to bring the Light into a dark place. Your spirit has to be right. Your vessel you carry that spirit in has to be right.

Being inside something doesn’t make you something else. If you sit in a garage are you now a car? Sitting in a church doesn’t make you a Christian.

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Psalm 100:4,

Thanksgiving. Giving Thanks.

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Colossians 1:12,

Who are you giving thanks to? Prayer is communication. Saying your grace is giving thanks. It should not be mechanical. It should not be robotic. It should a conversation with your God.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Phil 4:6,

You can’t pray effectively, with issues in your heart. A mean man can’t pray for me. A confused person can’t pray for me. A prideful person can’t pray for me. Their prayers are going to talk about everything except the goodness of God. Everything except how He blessed them, everything worldly.

How long is a good prayer? Trick question. It’s a conversation. If you haven’t talked to God in a while, you got some catching up to do, and not real certain if you are right, so you might tend to wander, and go a little long, we can tell. NOT a good time to stand before people that know. But we forgive you. I hope God does too.

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32,

Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Colossians 3:13

Thank God for your life. Thank God for your health. Thank God for your family. Thank God for relationships. Thank God for Jesus. Thank God for mercy, grace, salvation. Thank God for finances, jobs, opportunities you want but don’t even have now. Acknowledge is greatness. Praise God in the sanctuary, Praise God in your home, Praise God in your prayers.

Ask Him to forgive you of everything you have done contrary to His will and STOP doing it. You hear me. He that has an ear, let him hear. STOP doing the things you know are not right. You do all the right stuff in church, I’m talking at home, at work, in the street, where you think no one sees. God sees it.

Do it by communicating with him, pray is powerful but only if you are talking to GOD, not to yourself. Prayer should change YOU. Not things. YOU.
